"Live your life in a way that is worth telling stories about."
In doing this, be ready to step out your comfort zone and try something new. Take a chance and join your church family in one of the following areas.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
This study will begin October 3rd and run through December 1st with a break over Thanksgiving. We will meet in person on Sundays at 11:30-12:30 a.m. following the Contemporary Service. For those who prefer to meet virtually from home, we will also have a Zoom session on Wednesday evenings at 7:00-8:00 p.m. The Wednesday session will be a repeat of the Sunday session. You can attend either one. Contact Matthew Kapus if you need a copy of the book so we can order enough. firstname.lastname@example.org
Are you a woman looking to connect with other women, be up lifted in your journey, draw into a deeper faith and touch the lives of others? Women Encouraged is a group at Tabernacle that focuses on creating a supportive fellowship, growing close to God, and doing some missions supported by Tabernacle and the United Methodist Women. This group meets once a month on the third Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. We will gather outside (weather permitting) so bring a chair. In case of inclement weather, we will gather inside so don't forget a mask! Questions? Contact Sherri Stadtler at 540-623-6280 or email at email@example.com.
Would you like to help with Missions at Tabernacle but have limited time? If so, you could become a Mission Partner and plug in when you are able. There are many ongoing activities needed to keep Missions going. Examples include making phone calls, packing zip lock bags with soaps and lotions for Micah (see more info below), delivering donations to Micah or SECA, making informational posters for mission projects, helping to host a Red Cross Blood Drive at Tabernacle, designing or putting together displays, making announcements at worship services, and much more. Mission help is needed throughout the year. Contact Philip Duggins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteers Needed For SECA
Volunteers are needed at SECA for approximately one hour on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. SECA needs volunteers to pick up food at the Courtland Food Lion at 9:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and take it to SECA. Choose a day and come and volunteer! For more information or to volunteer, please call 540- 582-2465.
Worship Committee Invitation
The Worship Committee would like to extend an invitation to Tabernacle members who would like to share their talents in the following areas: Lay Readers and Greeters at the Traditional service 8:15 a.m. and Contemporary service 10:30 a.m. On average, a Lay Reader takes part in four services a year and assists the Pastor in the opening of Worship Service and assisting with Communion on the first Sunday of the month. Greeters assist with giving out bulletins, greeting and seating individuals, meeting visitors, and giving out visitor bags. Please contact Donna Jones to volunteer or to find out more information. 540-207-5348 or fdesigns2000@icloud.
You may have wondered who puts the bread and grape juice on the communion table for the 8:15 and 10:30 communion services. There are twelve faithful communion stewards-one person for each month. We currently need volunteers to fill upcoming vacancies. If you have questions, please contact Margaret Kackley at email@example.com.
Tabernacle supports feeding those who are struggling in our community. On the third Friday of each month, we serve the meal at Micah Ministries. Thank you to all those who have been involved in this ministry. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. "God has blessed me with more than I need. Because I have more, I will give more and do more" (Pastor Andy Stanley).
